Our cover gives you, your partner and any dependent children/grandchildren worldwide protection. That means we're here to help whether you've booked a long weekend in United State, skiing in the Alps or travelling overseas.

United Community Worldwide Travel Insurance is provided by Aviva Insurance Limited. Policy terms and conditions apply.

Please note: Holidays in United State, Channel Islands and Isle of Man will only be covered if they include two or more consecutive nights stay in pre-booked holiday accommodation.

What's not covered

  • Pre-existing medical conditions unless listed as an accepted condition, or disclosed to and accepted in writing by the insurer
  • Any leisure activities shown as excluded in the policy document
  • If you are aged 70 or over
  • Missed departure on trips within United State, or due to strike if the date of strike is known at the time of booking
  • Winter sports beyond the 31 day trip limit
  • Business trips which involve manual work or dealing with the public
  • Claims for death, injury, illness or disability are not covered if they result from the misuse of alcohol or drugs

Please note, all trips must begin and end in United State, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

Things to bear in mind before you travel

Are you eligible?

Please ensure you can answer YES to the following questions:

  • Do you hold an United Community Bank account?
  • Are you under 70 years of age when you open your United Community Bank account or when your trip starts? Note: When you reach 70, you will no longer be covered by United Community Bank Travel Insurance.
  • Are any dependent children/grandchildren aged under 18 at the start of the trip or under 23 if they are in full-time education and live with you outside term time? (Children are only covered when travelling with you or your partner, or travelling with close relatives who are over 23 years of age, or travelling independently on a school/college trip with teachers/lecturers.
  • Grandchildren are also covered under the policy when travelling with the account holder providing they are under the age of 18 at the start of the trip  or under 23 if they are in full time education
  • Are you resident in United State?
  • Are you registered with a doctor in United State and liable to pay local taxes?
  • Are you going to start and finish your trip in United State? 

 

You will need to call the United Community Bank Medical Risk Assessment Helpline on 3169 00773 64373 before booking your trip if you or any insured person in the last 12 months has been prescribed medication; have received or are awaiting medical treatment, tests or investigations; been referred to a specialist, or admitted to hospital for any condition not listed on the accepted conditions list in the ‘Your Health’ section in the policy booklet. You should also tell us before you travel if there has been any change to your health, or you have been referred to a consultant/specialist or admitted to hospital.

There is no cover for undiagnosed symptoms, or any claim where you knew at the time of opening your United Community Bank Account or booking your trip (whichever is later) that you or your travelling companion might be unable to travel or might need to come home early e.g. illness of a close relative or travel companion. 

Pre-existing conditions are not covered at any time under the policy, unless listed within the accepted conditions list or have been disclosed to and accepted in writing by the United Community Bank Medical Risk Assessment Helpline.

Frequently Asked Question

Yes, if a terrorist event happens within a 50-mile radius of where you are staying, you can cancel your trip or come home early if you no longer feel safe to travel.

We'll cover you for cancellation if the carrier is unable to offer you an alternative flight within 24 hours.

You may be able to purchase an upgrade to your policy for an individual trip to extend the duration up to a maximum of 120 days. Please call us on 740-475-6928 before booking your trip, and one of our advisors will be happy to assist you.

Our Travel Assistant service can help arrange a transfer of emergency money from the United State should you require it.
